WHO WE ARE:

Trot & Train is a personalized dog care service built around movement, structure, and overall well-being. My dog, Astra (left) and my sister’s dog, Luna (right), are the inspiration behind Trot & Train. Our Dutch Shepherds taught us that providing mental stimulation and physical exercise keeps your dog healthy and happy. The curiosity to learn the canine behavior was how Trot & Train was born.

Our mission will always be to assist busy pet parents with delivering the consistent care their dog needs. We dedicate ourselves to provide a helping hand that is reliable, friendly and your dogs best friend.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Start by completing our short New Client Form that helps us get to know your dog’s personality, needs, and what you’re looking for ahead of your Meet & Greet. 🤗

  • At the end of the form, you’ll be able to schedule a Meet & Greet directly through the provided link.

    This is a brief, in-person visit that allows us to meet you and your dog, review important details together, and get familiar with your home and your pup’s routine. It helps ensure we’re a great fit for one another before services begin.

    Your dog will be thoughtfully matched with the best-fit walker based on personality, needs, and schedule. Our founder may be involved in the initial sessions to ensure a seamless and supportive transition.

    You’ll also have the option to meet your dog’s assigned walker in person, virtually, or not at all — whichever feels most comfortable for you. 🥰

  • Once your Meet & Greet is confirmed, you’ll receive an invitation to Pet Pocketbook, our booking and communication platform.

    Through the app, you’ll be able to:

    • Request walks and services

    • View your schedule and visit notes

    • Store vet information and care instructions

    • Receive photos and updates from your walker

    • Message your assigned walker

    • Manage payments in one place

I’m Mehek, founder of Trot & Train. I’m a proud Dutch Shepherd mom who loves taking on adventures with my dog and building a lifestyle rooted in movement and purpose.

With over 12 years of running experience, staying on my feet and challenging myself is part of my everyday life. Combined with my background in product design, I focus on blending creativity, user-friendly systems, and high-quality dog services into a model that’s designed to truly help people and their dogs.

GENERAL INQUIRIES

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?

  • Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Saturday & Sunday: based on availability

  • Before & after hours based on availability

what is your PAYMENT policy?

  • Clients will be automatically billed the Monday after service(s) completed.

  • Auto-pay and card payments will only be charged for walks that are marked complete. You will not be accidentally charged.

  • Cash & Zelle payments MUST be made prior to service(s) and failure to do so will result in up to a $10 late fee per payment missed.

  • Zelle payments must be made out to "trotandtrain@gmail.com" not the business phone number.

what is your cancellation policy?

  • Cancellations made the day before the appointment incur a 50% charge

  • Cancellations made the same day incur a 100% charge

  • Cancel early to avoid fees and give other clients the chance to book your spot

ARE YOU INSURED AND BONDED?

  • Yes, Trot & Train is fully insured

  • Walkers are screened and trained before working independently

  • Your dog’s safety is always our top priority!

do you work through all weather conditions?

  • If your dog wears any weather or outdoor gear (ex: booties, sweaters, jackets, etc.) please leave them out or let us know where they’re kept

  • If there is rain or snow in the forecast, please leave out a towel so we can dry off your dog when they get home

    Your pet's safety is our top priority!! In the event of inclement weather, we may modify the time we spend outdoors and then enjoy indoor play time for the remainder of the visit

  • In the case of severe and dangerous weather, Trot & Train reserves the right to cancel walks in order to keep both, your pups and our walkers safe  

HOW DO LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS WORK?

  • Appointments requested within 24 hours incur a $15 late booking fee

  • Requests cannot be made after 6:00 PM the day before the appointment

  • Last-minute bookings are NOT guaranteed, booking early secures your preferred time.

HOW DOES THE MEET & GREET WORK?

  • We meet you and your dog in person to learn about routines, behavior, and preferences

  • New clients MUST fill out our "New Client Intake Form"

  • For the safety of our walkers and pets, we will NOT provide any services without an initial Meet & Greet

DO YOU OFFER ONE-TIME AND RECURRING SERVICES?

  • Yes, we offer both one-time and recurring weekly or monthly care

  • Recurring clients receive priority scheduling and discounted packages

DO MY DOG’s WALKERS CHANGE?

  • No, clients will be paired with a consistent, safe and reliable walker for their dog. Mehek will always be back up in case of emergency unless another walker was introduced ahead of time.

can i request a specific walker?

  • Yes, once your dog is paired with a walker

  • Consistency is always our goal

  • Backup walkers may be assigned if needed

PET POCKETBOOK

HOW DO I SCHEDULE ON PET POCKETBOOK?

  • Search “Pet Pocketbook” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  • Log in with the email and password created during verification

CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS THROUGH THE APP?

  • Yes, payments are processed directly through the app.

  • Credit and debit cards are accepted with a 5% processing fee.

  • Auto-pay can be enabled and charges only occur after services are marked complete.

How do recurring schedules work in the app?

  • You select consistent days and time windows.

  • Walks can also be auto scheduled on a set weekly schedule.

WHAT IS PET POCKETBOOK?

  • Our secure booking and scheduling platform

  • Used to manage walks, payments, and updates

  • Gives you full visibility into your dog’s care

HOW DO I CREATE A PET POCKETBOOK ACCOUNT?

  • You’ll receive an email invitation after completing the New Client Inquiry Form along with instructions to set up your Pet Pocketbook account

  • Follow the verification link to create your account and take your time setting up your pets profile(s)

  • Once set up, you’ll be able to access booking, scheduling, payments and messaging!

WHEN CAN I START BOOKING WALKS?

  • Booking opens after your Meet & Greet

  • Recurring schedules are prioritized first

  • One-time requests can be added based on availability
